Kuchipudi Beginners Lessons

Kuchipudi, one among the eight major Indian classical dance forms, traces back its traditions in the Krishna district of Andhra Pradesh.

Originated in the 17th century, it has its roots in the ancient art form of Yakshagana. The core tenets of the modern-day art form were laid by Siddhendra Yogi with his creation of the dance-drama Bhama Kalapam.
Sreelakshmy Govardhanan welcomes all students to the course as she briefly outlines the course structure and introduces the art form and its history.
