Embodying grace and charm, Thiruvathirakali involves a group of women dance around a Nilavilakku (Traditional wick lamp) in a circular motion. Also known as Kaikottikali, the performance is accompanied by clapping and singing. Traditionally it was performed in Kerala as part of the major festivals such as Onam.
